Eligibility Criteria
- PhD programs in Economics, Philosophy, Political Science, or Sociology within the School of Social Sciences and Philosophy at Trinity College Dublin.
- Applicants must possess a strong academic record and meet the entry requirements for the chosen PhD program.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and a clear ambition to contribute to society through research and education.
Application Process
- Prospective applicants should first contact a potential supervisor within the relevant department to discuss research interests and supervision availability.
- Submit an application to the chosen PhD program through Trinity College Dublin's application portal.
- Within the application, clearly state the intention to be considered for the Grattan Scholars program.
- Ensure all necessary documents are included with the application.

- Academic transcripts and degree certificates
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Research proposal
- Personal statement
- Two academic references
- Proof of English language proficiency (if applicable)
Scholarship Benefits
- Funding Coverage:
- Full tuition fees for four years
- Annual stipend of €20,000
- Duration of Funding:
- Four years, subject to satisfactory academic progress.
- Four years, subject to satisfactory academic progress.
- Extra Benefits:
- Opportunities for teaching experience, contributing up to six hours per week during teaching terms
