University of Pennsylvania Mathematics PhD Funding

• Applicants should have at least a bachelor's degree by the time they would enter the program. A master's degree is not necessary to apply for the PhD program.​
• While a degree in mathematics is typical, individuals with different academic backgrounds, such as physics or computer science, are welcome to apply if they possess a strong mathematical foundation.​
• Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in English, typically through TOEFL scores
• A complete application includes the application form, transcripts, personal statement, CV/resume, and letters of recommendation (at least 3, at most 5)

• Submit an online application through the University of Pennsylvania's graduate admissions portal.​
• Ensure all required documents, including letters of recommendation and test scores, are submitted by the specified deadlines.​
• If applicable, submit a request for an application fee waiver to the Graduate Division of the School of Arts and Sciences.​
