President's Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (PPFP)

Eligibility Criteria

  • Postdoctoral research in various disciplines across the University of Michigan
  •  Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree completed by July 1 of the fellowship year
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions or limitations. The program does not sponsor employment visas. ​

Application Process

  • Submit an online application through the University of Michigan's PPFP portal.
  • Provide contact information for up to two U-M tenured/tenure-track faculty mentors and two references.
  • Ensure all materials are submitted by the application deadline.​
     
  • Documents Required:
    • Online application form
    • Letters of support from faculty mentors and references
    • Departmental letter of support from U-M department chair/director/dean​

Scholarship Benefits

  • Funding Coverage:
    • Annual salary of $65,000
    • $10,000 for research and professional development
    • Health insurance coverage for fellow and dependents
    • Group life insurance
    • Three weeks of sick leave
    • One month (non-accrual) of vacation​
       
  • Duration of Funding:
    • Typically one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year.​
