Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be admitted to the PhD program in Political Science at UC Berkeley.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
- The program is full-time; part-time enrollment is not permitted.
Application Process
- Submit the UC Berkeley Graduate Division application, selecting the Political Science PhD program.
- Supporting Documents:
- Transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.
- Three letters of recommendation.
- Statement of Purpose and Personal History Statement.
- Writing Sample.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) or resume.
- GRE scores (required for Fall 2025 admissions, with few exceptions).
- TOEFL or IELTS scores for international applicants.
Scholarship Benefits
- Funding Coverage
- Full payment of tuition and fees, including student health insurance.
- Annual living expense stipend, funded through a combination of fellowships and Graduate Student Instructor (GSI) or Graduate Student Researcher (GSR) appointments.
- Duration of Funding
- Five years of financial support, contingent upon satisfactory academic progress.
