Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be admitted to the PhD program in Chemistry or Biochemistry at UCLA.​
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.​
  • The program is full-time; part-time enrollment is not permitted.

Application Process

  • Submit the UCLA Graduate Division application, selecting the Chemistry or Biochemistry PhD program.​
     
  • Supporting Documents:
    • Transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.
    • Three letters of recommendation.
    • Statement of Purpose and Personal History Statement.
    • Curriculum Vitae (CV) or resume.
    • GRE scores (optional or required, depending on the program's current policy).
    • TOEFL or IELTS scores for international applicants.

Scholarship Benefits

  • Funding Coverage
    • Full payment of tuition and fees, including student health insurance.​
    • Annual living expense stipend, funded through a combination of fellowships and Graduate Student Researcher (GSR) or Teaching Assistant (TA) appointments.​

    • Five years of financial support, contingent upon satisfactory academic progress.​
