Eligibility Criteria
- Be a permanent resident of Hong Kong who will return after graduation (i.e., a non-Canadian requiring a study permit).
- Not hold Canadian citizenship, landed immigrant status, permanent residency, or any other claim to residence in Canada.
- Have completed or are in the process of completing the HKDSE, IB, or equivalent.
- Have the prerequisite courses needed for their chosen program at the University of Toronto.
- Demonstrate a high degree of financial need.
- Have achieved a high academic standing in secondary school.
- Exhibit strong personal initiative and community leadership.
- Have a genuine interest in living abroad and experiencing a new culture.
- Be committed to developing a career and engaging in community service in Hong Kong.
Application Process
- Access the Hong Kong Scholarships Application Package for full instructions.
- Complete and submit the application by the specified deadline.
- Documents Required:
- Completed online application form.
- Academic transcripts and certificates.
- Personal statement outlining financial need, academic achievements, and community involvement.
- Proof of residency in Hong Kong.
- English proficiency test results.
Scholarship Benefits
- Funding Coverage:
- Up to CAD 33,000 per year, applied directly towards tuition fees.
- Up to CAD 33,000 per year, applied directly towards tuition fees.
- Duration of Funding:
- Up to four academic years, subject to continued demonstration of financial need and maintenance of high academic standing.
