Eligibility Criteria

  • Academic Qualifications: Applicants should possess a bachelor's or master's degree in a related field such as biology, biochemistry, nutrition, or a similar discipline.​
  • Language Proficiency: International applicants must demonstrate English proficiency with a minimum TOEFL score of 100 or an IELTS score of 7.5.​
  • GRE Requirement: GRE scores are not required for admission.​
  • Additional Requirements: A strong academic record and relevant research experience are highly recommended.​

Application Process

  • Online Application: Complete the application through Columbia University's Graduate School of Arts and Sciences portal.​
  • Application Fee: Pay the non-refundable application fee of $110.​
  • Transcripts: Submit official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.​
  • Letters of Recommendation: Provide three letters of recommendation from academic or professional references.​
  • Personal Statement: Write a statement outlining academic interests, research experience, and career goals.​
  • English Proficiency Scores: Submit TOEFL or IELTS scores if applicable.​
  • Interview: Selected applicants may be invited for an interview.​
