Eligibility Criteria

Open to applicants who have applied for admission to an eligible taught postgraduate (Master’s) programme within the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Edinburgh.
Available to both UK and international students.
Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence and strong motivation for postgraduate study.

Eligible Fields:
- Any taught postgraduate (MSc) programme within the School of Biological Sciences, such as:
- MSc Biotechnology
- MSc Synthetic Biology and Biotechnology
- MSc Quantitative Genetics and Genome Analysis
- MSc Biodiversity, Wildlife and Ecosystem Health

Application Process

First, apply for admission to an eligible programme.
Once an offer is received, access and complete the scholarship application through the MyEd portal: https://www.myed.ed.ac.uk

Documents Required:
- Completed scholarship application.
- Personal statement detailing:
  - Motivation for undertaking the MSc.
  - Academic achievements.
  - How the bursary would support your study and future plans.
  - Academic transcripts.
  - CV or résumé (if applicable).

Scholarship Benefits

Funding Coverage:
- Each bursary provides £10,000.
Duration of Funding:
- One academic year.
