Eligibility Criteria
- Open to applicants who have applied for admission to an eligible taught postgraduate (Master’s) programme within the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Edinburgh.
- Available to both UK and international students.
- Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence and strong motivation for postgraduate study.
- Eligible Fields:
- Any taught postgraduate (MSc) programme within the School of Biological Sciences, such as:
- MSc Biotechnology
- MSc Synthetic Biology and Biotechnology
- MSc Quantitative Genetics and Genome Analysis
- MSc Biodiversity, Wildlife and Ecosystem Health

- First, apply for admission to an eligible programme.
- Once an offer is received, access and complete the scholarship application through the MyEd portal: https://www.myed.ed.ac.uk
- Documents Required:
- Completed scholarship application.
- Personal statement detailing:
- Motivation for undertaking the MSc.
- Academic achievements.
- How the bursary would support your study and future plans.
- Academic transcripts.
- CV or résumé (if applicable).
