The Desmond Tutu/Church of Scotland Masters Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have applied for admission to a postgraduate taught Masters or Masters by Research degree program within the School of Divinity. 
  • Applicants must have, or expect to obtain, the equivalent of a UK first-class or 2:1 Honours degree at undergraduate level.​

Application Process

  • Apply for your chosen Masters program at the University of Edinburgh.​
  • After applying for admission, submit the scholarship application via the University’s online scholarship application system (EUCLID) through 

Documents Required:

  • Completed scholarship application form.​
  • Academic transcripts and degree certificates.​
  • Personal statement highlighting academic achievements.
  • Reference from the General Secretary. 

Scholarship Benefits

Funding Coverage:

  • Full overseas tuition fees.
  • Accommodation (possibly shared) within a Church of Scotland flat in Edinburgh.​
  • Monthly allowance
  • Visa costs.​
  • One return airfare.
  • Insurance from Church of Scotland Business travel.​

Duration of Funding:

  • One academic year.​
