Student Athletic Bursaries

• Eligible Programs: All full-time programs at Algonquin College.
• Educational Qualifications:
  • Must be a full-time, activity-fee paying student.
  • Must have successfully completed a full course load (minimum of five courses) with no failures.
  • Must have achieved a semester GPA of at least 2.50.
• Other Requirements:
  • Must be a member in good standing of a varsity team competing within the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA).
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

• Step 1: Complete the Algonquin College General Bursary Application form, available on the official website.
• Step 2: Submit a personal statement highlighting academic achievements, athletic involvement, and community service.
• Step 3: Provide a reference from a coach, teammate, or instructor, if required.
• Step 4: Submit the application by the specified deadline.
• Documents Required:
  • Completed General Bursary Application form.
  • Personal statement.
  • Reference letter (if applicable).

• Funding Coverage: Bursary amounts vary based on individual assessment, typically ranging from CAD $500 to $5,000, applied towards tuition fees.
• Duration of Funding: Awarded per term; students may reapply in subsequent terms if eligibility criteria continue to be met.
• Extra Benefits: Recognition within the college community and potential enhancement of student-athlete profiles.
