HCI Skills Gateway scholarships

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be nationals and residents of countries classified as low- or low-middle-income by the World Bank.
  • Applicants must have applied for admission to an eligible postgraduate taught Master’s degree in the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh.
  • The scholarship is not open to applicants who have already been awarded a scholarship from the University of Edinburgh for 2024–2025.
  • Applicants should demonstrate academic merit and a strong personal statement indicating their commitment to humanitarian engineering and development.

Application Process

  • Applications are to be submitted online via the University of Edinburgh scholarship portal (MyEd).
  • The scholarship application is only accessible after an application for admission to an eligible program has been submitted.

 

  • Documents Required:
    • Completed scholarship application form.
    • Personal statement.
    • Evidence of country of nationality and residence.
    • Proof of application to a School of Engineering MSc program.

Scholarship Benefits

  • Funding Coverage:
    • The scholarship covers full overseas tuition fees.
    • It also provides a living cost stipend to assist with accommodation and general living expenses.
       
  • Duration of Funding:
    • Funding is provided for one academic year (the duration of the MSc program).
