Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • Strong academic record and a clear research focus in Asian Languages and Cultures.
  • TOEFL or IELTS scores are required for non-native English speakers.
  • GRE scores are not required.

Application Process

  • Prepare and submit an online application through the Rackham Graduate School's application portal.
  • Submit all required documents, including transcripts, letters of recommendation, and proof of English proficiency.
     
  • Documents Required:
    • Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.
    • Proof of English language proficiency (TOEFL or IELTS), if applicable.
    • Three letters of recommendation.
    • Academic Statement of Purpose (approximately 800 words, double-spaced).
    • Personal Statement.
    • Resume or curriculum vitae.​

Scholarship Benefits

  • Funding Coverage:
    • Full tuition waiver for five years.
