Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be sophomores or juniors at UC Berkeley.​
  • Applicants should not be scheduled to graduate before June 2026.​
  • Applicants must have a GPA in the upper third of their class.​
  • A demonstrated desire to make a difference in local, regional, national, or international communities is essential.​

Application Process

  • A concise overview of the applicant's qualifications and intentions.​
  • A one-page document highlighting current and past public service experiences.​
  • A one-page essay detailing the applicant's motivation and commitment to public service.​
  • A four-page proposal outlining the public service project, including a budget and timeline.​
  • Two letters are required. If collaborating with a partner organization, a letter of support from the organization is also needed.​
  • A signed agreement to accept the scholarship terms.​
  • An unofficial or photocopy of the applicant's academic transcript.

 

 

Scholarship Benefits

  • Funding Coverage
    • Scholarship: $7,000 awarded directly to the student.​
    • Project Grant: $8,000 allocated for the execution of the proposed public service project.​
    • The funding supports the student and their project for one year following the award.​
