Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should have a strong academic background in artificial intelligence, computer science, machine learning, or related disciplines.
Demonstrated programming skills and prior experience in natural language processing are essential.

Eligible Fields:
- PhD in areas such as:
  - Multimodal natural language understanding and generation.
  - Long-form and retrieval-augmented text generation.
  - Multilingual generation.

Application Process

Submit an application through the University of Edinburgh's postgraduate application system.
Select "Informatics: ILCC: Language Processing, Speech Technology, Information Retrieval, Cognition" as the research area.
- Indicate "DeepMind Scholarship" under the "Research Project" section.
- After submission, email the applicant number to Dr. Mirella Lapata at mlap@inf.ed.ac.uk.

Documents Required:
- Completed application form.

- Letters of recommendation.

Scholarship Benefits
