Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must have applied for admission to a postgraduate taught Master's or Master's by Research degree programme at the University of Edinburgh, commencing in September 2025.
- Applicants should possess, or expect to obtain, the equivalent of a UK first-class or 2:1 Honours degree at the undergraduate level.
- Both UK and international students are eligible to apply.
Application Process
- Eligible applicants should complete an online scholarship application via the University’s MyEd portal: https://www.myed.ed.ac.uk
- Access to the scholarship application system requires prior application for admission to the University of Edinburgh. Following the submission of an admission application, it may take up to five working days for system checks to be completed and for access to be granted.
- Documents Required:
- Completed scholarship application form.
- Personal statement clearly stating:
- Reasons for applying for the scholarship.
- Benefits the scholarship will have on studies.
- How previous study and/or professional experience have prepared the applicant for the Master's programme.
- Thoughts on demonstrating citizenship and community engagement within ECA while on the programme.
- Academic transcripts.
- Proof of expected or obtained degree classification.
- Any additional documents specified by the scholarship application guidelines.
Scholarship Benefits
- Funding Coverage:
- Each scholarship is valued at £13,000 for one academic year.
- The award will be automatically deducted from tuition fees, with any remaining funds allocated towards living costs.
- Duration of Funding:
- The scholarship is tenable for one academic year.
- The scholarship is tenable for one academic year.
- Extra Benefits:
- Scholarship recipients are expected to actively engage with the postgraduate community and participate in opportunities to present their work to the wider student and staff body during the award period.
