Hold nationality in a country eligible for Official Development Assistance (ODA) as per the OECD list.
Meet the requirements for obtaining an entry visa and residence permit for the Netherlands.
Do not hold dual nationality from any EU/EEA country or other non-eligible countries.
Have never participated in a degree-seeking higher education programme in the Netherlands.
Do not possess a diploma from a higher education institution equivalent to a Bachelor's degree.
Agree to become an active Global Studies and UM ambassador during and after your studies.
Have submitted an application for the Global Studies programme via Studielink and the UM portal and have been (conditionally) admitted.

Register for the Global Studies programme at Maastricht University via Studielink. Upon submission, you will receive a UM student ID number.
Use your UM student ID to complete and submit the Scholarship Application Form.
The Global Studies Scholarship selection committee will review applications and invite the top candidates for an online interview.
Documents Required:
- Completed application for the Global Studies programme via Studielink.
- Scholarship Application Form (accessible after receiving UM student ID).
- Supporting documents as specified in the scholarship application form (e.g., academic transcripts, motivation letter, proof of nationality).

Funding Coverage:
- Living expenses: €15,925 per academic year (approximately €1,225 per month)
- Health & liability insurance: At cost, arranged and paid by UM
- Visa application costs: At cost, arranged and paid by UM
- Tuition fees: At cost per academic year, arranged and paid by UM
- Pre-Academic Training costs: At cost, arranged and paid by UM
- International Student Ambassador Programme (ISAP): At cost for the first block only, arranged and paid by UM
Duration of Funding:
- 36 months (entire duration of the Bachelor's programme)
Extra Benefits:
- Mandatory accommodation provided by UM (note: not suitable for partners/spouses and/or children)

Selection Procedure:
- The UM International Services Desk checks if all applications are complete after the application deadline.
- The UM Scholarship Office forwards applications to the Global Studies admission office.
- The admission office, in cooperation with programme coordinators, ranks applications based on UM scholarship selection criteria and proposes top candidates to the Scholarship Selection Committee.
- The Scholarship Selection Committee invites top applicants for an online interview, after which a decision is made.
- Selected candidates must sign and return the award letter to the UM International Services Desk to accept the scholarship.
