Eligibility Criteria

  • Program Completion: Must be a graduating student from a diploma-level, post-secondary program at Algonquin College.
  • Academic Standing: Achieved the highest academic standing in the final year of the program.

Application Process

  • Nomination: Students cannot apply directly. Eligible students are identified and nominated by Algonquin College based on academic performance.
  • Selection: The college reviews academic records to determine the student with the highest academic standing in the final year of a diploma-level program.
  • Notification: The selected student is notified by the college and the award is presented during the convocation ceremony.
  • Documents Required:
    • No application or additional documents are required from students, as the selection is based solely on academic records.

Scholarship Benefits

  • Funding Coverage: There is no monetary award associated with the Governor General’s Medal.
  • Duration of Funding: One-time award presented upon graduation.
