1
Flappy Bird The University of Auckland
Designed a flappy bird game in Quartus Prime v18.1 playable on a DE0-CV board with a PS/2 mouse and 480 x 640 VGA interface (we connected the interface to a monitor). We used a High-Level State machine to combine different components and control the states of the game.
The game:
Players play as a bird by using the PS/2 mouse left click to get the bird through the pipes without hitting them or the ground. The bird has three lives. Over time, the speed will increase making the game more challenging. There is a score that indicates how many pipes they have passed and also power-ups such as extra lives and double points that help the player reach higher scores. When the bird loses all three lives, players can press a push button on the board to restart.

Sign-SYS AI NZSL Recognition SoftwareThe University of Auckland
Sign-SYS application is an AI recognition software designed in Python to recognize different gestures in New Zealand Sign Language. Users can load and train datasets using CNN models such as AlexNet, InceptionV3 and also a custom hybrid model that we developed using ResNet and VGG16 CNN models. Once datasets are trained, users can select the PyTorch model created to test the predictions of hand gestures. There is also a camera functionality that the users can hold up NZSL gestures on their camera and see what the predicted result is.

Motozon car selling appThe University of Auckland
MotoZon is a car shopping application that we designed on Android Studio with Java. Users can navigate through the pages and add cars to their favourites list or shopping cart. There are 3 pages:
- Home Page ~ Discover most viewed cars. Search for cars. View favourites and cart list.
- Category Page ~ Browse different cars of their respective category. Can sort by name, year, or price.
- Car Details Page ~ Show more details for each car along with three different images of the car.
We also made use of Realtime Firebase and Firebase storage by Google as our database. This helped us to store the different images and details of the cars which shown in the app. User registration and login was also done using Firebase. Upon purchasing a car, the user will be sent an email confirmation of the purchase using Firestore.
