Thesis project: A system for the extraction/recovery of carboxylic acid by the Reactive extraction methodRashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University
The main objective of the research was to develop a system for the extraction/recovery of carboxylic acid by the Reactive extraction method: • The chosen carboxylic acid was Trans-Aconitic acid due to its great importance and application in industrial operations plus Trans-Aconitic acid is expensive in India therefore, its recovery can save a lot of industry expense. • To optimize the process and save up working costs, we replaced chemical solvents with natural non-toxic solvents such as oils. Also, an extensive comparative study was carried out on yielding results of both chemical and natural solvents. The study of the Reactive Extraction process required in-depth knowledge of separation technology, mass transfer, reaction engineering, and transport phenomenon.
