Co-pyrolysis of Lignocellulosic Biomass with LDPE using ZSM-5 as CatalystSiddaganga Institute Of Technology
The demand for renewable chemicals and fuels requires the exploitation of alternative feedstock to replace petroleum-derived chemicals and fuels. Lignocellulosic biomass has been considered as the most promising feedstock for the production of sustainable biofuels. Sugarcane bagasse is among one of those biomasses which have low lignin content which is responsible for lesser viscous oils as a product when compared to other biomasses. Till then only pyrolysis and co-pyrolysis of sugarcane bagasse and LDPE in different blends was being done without catalyst. The aim was to conduct the co-pyrolysis of sugarcane bagasse with LDPE with ZSM-5 as a catalyst in different proportions such as 0.5, 1, 1.5, and 2.0% which wasin accordance with the quantity of feed added. The product obtained was then distillated at different temperature ranges and the gasoline fraction obtained was evaluated. Physical properties of the resulting oil from the trial possessing maximum yield of gasoline was evaluated using GC-HRMS
